Colorful School Art I Made With Markers and Crayons

I made these colorful Sugar Skull drawings in school. We were learning how to decorate skulls using bright colors, shapes, and small patterns. I liked this project because each skull could feel different, even if they all started from the same shape.

The fun part was choosing how each face would look: happy, funny, surprised, or mysterious. I added eyebrows, teeth, dots, and swirls to give personality. The decorations felt like tiny stories if you looked closely.

Bright Colors Are Important

I used crayons and markers to fill in the skulls and to make borders. The borders helped the skulls feel like they were floating on the page, almost like portraits. I liked using green, yellow, orange, and purple because they made each drawing feel unique and bold.

The colors also helped show mood. Green felt natural and calm. Yellow felt cheerful. Orange felt warm and lively. Purple felt magical. It was fun to see how the same skull shape could turn into four very different characters just by changing the colors and decorations.

Each One Has a Personality

If you look at each skull closely, they all have their own personality:

The green skull has colorful flowers and a wide smile. It feels happy and friendly. The yellow skull has hearts and soft colors. It feels cheerful and playful. The orange skull has big round eyes and fancy decorations. It feels expressive and dramatic. The purple skull has bold shapes and bright details. It feels mysterious and creative.

Even though I used similar lines and shapes, each one looks like a different character, almost like a group of friends.

Drawing in School

I enjoyed this project because everyone in class made different skulls with different decorations. I liked seeing how other students used colors and patterns. Art class made me feel relaxed and focused. I liked having time to just draw, color, and experiment.

School projects were a fun way to learn new techniques without worrying about being perfect. I could explore new styles and see what felt right.

I Still Remember the Feeling

Even now, when I look at these drawings, I remember sitting at a school table with my supplies spread out, choosing markers carefully, filling in borders, and seeing the paper come alive. It made me feel proud to hang them up afterward.

Art has always been a calm, happy place for me, especially when I get to create characters or expressive faces.
